Nzb Leeach Makes it Past App World Reviewers

NZB Leech NZB Leech2

You have to love RIM’s attempt at curating App World. I personally disagree with their decision to limit application installation to App World on the PlayBook since it will limit the selection of apps to that which RIM can approve. The latest case is an Android port of Nzb Leech which is essentially a Usenet client for the BlackBerry PlayBook. In case you don’t know Usenet is the granddaddy of all file sharing networks which is usually a big no no for RIM’s crack squad of App World reviewers.

You can check out Nzb Leech for yourself in App World for $4.99 if you have PlayBook OS 2.0. Features include:

  • Import nzb files into NZB Leech and download on the go!
  • Supports multiple simultaneous connections to your favorite usenet provider
  • SSL supported
  • queue nzbs (via a queue folder)
  • resume support (don’t have to restart downloads from beginning)
  • pause/resume download
  • indicates which files are incomplete files (in red text)
  • NOTE: You need a newsgroup provider to use this app
