Gameloft Updates Some of their Games to v2.0

Gameloft PlayBook

This might be a telling sign for PlayBook OS 2.0 launching. Quite a few large development shops like Rovio and others have been updating their games this week. NerdBerry noticed that Gameloft has now joined the club by updating their Lets Golf 2 HD, NOVA 2 HD, and UNO HD games to v2.0 from v1.0. Some of their games are still sitting at v1.0 so it could be they are waiting to be approved.

If you happen to own one of those games check out the updates in App World

  1. I think we’ll see a lot more apps updated next week. I don’t think the OS2 release will happen on 17th like many have speculated because putting out a release on a Friday makes no sense. They would need to have people available over the weekend to deal with issues. I think Monday the 20th is more likely. They might want to have a day to tweak the update servers so the 21st is a likely day as well. Then again they might wait until MWC on the 27th to announce the release.

  2. Weekend release is actually more likely because RIM doesn’t want any disruptions to their corporate email customers.

  3. I got the update to UNO, but where is my update to Lets Golf 2? App World only shows 1.0.. even after a PlayBook reboot.

  4. If your trying to force some updates to your PlayBook, I know rst is back at least on the PlayBook 2.0 beta’s. Just flick your keyboard up while in App World hit rst close it, and repeat. Eventually if your determined enough they will arrive. Random reboots and cache clears in the Browser have been known to help as well. :)

    • I’m still running OS so rst doesn’t work. Oh well, just curious why some are getting Let’s Golf 2 updates and I am not. I’ll just sit patiently… like I am for the OS 2.0 update.

  5. I’m betting on the 20th or 21st. If there are any problems, they can be dealt with before MWC.
