LastPass Password Manager Premium Released for PlayBook OS 2.0

LastPass LastPass2 LastPass3

We are starting to see some of the fruits of RIM’s Android Player now that BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 is almost upon us. LastPass has released LastPass Password Manager Premium for the BlackBerry PlayBook as long as you are running PlayBook OS 2.0. It gives you access to the very popular LastPass service with a 14 day trial after which it requires a $1/month LastPass subscription.

In case you are not familiar with LastPass here are the features of the LastPass Password Manager Premium:

  • Built-in browser that will automatically fill your login information for each of your saved LastPass sites.
  • Automatically fill forms on all sites.
  • Secure Password Generator.
  • Add, update, and delete Secure Notes and Sites.

You can find LastPass Password Manager Premium in App World for the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0. Hopefully LastPass sees how much demand there is and launches a native app!

  1. It doesn’t work for me.
I can’t type in my credentials.

    • Seems it’s more of a problem with the OS. Rebooting the PlayBook allowed me to log in.

After having tested a few site, I’d have to say that it’s as bad as LastPass on BlackBerry.
Sites are loaded in an internal browser that doesn’t work too well.

Only RIM can fix this situation by allowing extensions, but since we’ve heard that nothing needs to be changed ;), I guess any serious browsing will need to be performed on other devices.

  2. just tried it out

    application works,
but I don’t like the browsing using built-in browser or Android Browser.

still waiting for a native PlayBook app with integration into Browser
