Foursquare pushed out a small update this week to their BlackBerry smartphone app. The update essentially brings some bug fixes to the app so its worth mentioning them. If you are running into any of these issues then definitely upgrade!
- Fix to venue screen "switch focus" issue when transitioning from partial to full load of the venue and it’s details.
- Fix to list/delete specific to user adding and quickly deleting a list.
- Update to list items styling so the background is consistently light grey rather than white.
- Improved performance on friend management screen when there exists 100+ friend requests.
- Fix scroll issue with venue history list.
- And lots more quick fixes

For me, Foursquare still has the very annoying issue of frequently timing out on location lookup. Hard to tell if its GPS timeout or a timeout on the venue search it does after it knows where I am. Seems like their timeouts are a bit too short on something.
But in many cases, even when the search hits the timeout, if I explicitly search for the name of the place I’m at, it’ll come up with a pretty accurate distance.

finally after i downloaded this updated version, works now in my 9800
