Sneak Peak at PlayBook OS 2.0 Communications on Video (RIM)

Communication Video

Now that RIM has let loose about more of the features in BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 we are seeing them showing more of their hand. Luke on the official RIM blog has posted a new follow up on PlayBook OS 2.0 with Michael Clewley and Jeff Gadway at CES 2012. It shows off the new communication features like email, calendar, and social on the PlayBook so you can get an idea of what is coming next month!

  1. While its crazy we waited this long. At the least the wait has produced the best email/contact/calender apps on any OS.

  2. Speaking of calenders, didn’t RIM acquire Tungle.me and DataViz? Have we seen any of their efforts in the playbook?..actually DataViz does DocsToGo so I imagine not much will change there.

    • No, not yet – though we’re finally starting to see the effects of the Gist purchase (been almost a year I think). I know the Gist app has been offered before, but I’ve been looking forward to really tight integration for a while now. I wonder how RIM can compete with Google and their data-mining however…

  3. It’s good to see that RIM has not squandered their acquisitions or the time it has taken to finish OS2. I really hope they deliver this on time (or early, if I dare to dream).
