Nuance Packs a Bigger Punch by Acquiring Vlingo

Nuance announced this week that they have acquired the popular voice to text and voice recognition app maker Vlingo. Vlingo has made a name for itself in voice recognition in a market that is now making headlines with Apples Siri. RIM already integrates Nuance technology for voice searches and voice commands on BlackBerry smartphones. Nuance claims that the combination of the two complimentary companies will lead to a stronger effort to better compete.

  1. We sure can hope so… And hope they don’t drop the BB platform as they go about it… :/

  2. RIMM needs to get on the ball with this. Siri is mainly just an overblown gimmick. RIMM needs to come out with something better than this.

  3. @dpr I completely agree Siri kind of sucks I feel like rimm can do a much better job with this.
