Devs: RIM Posts Tutorial For Porting WebOS Apps to BlackBerry WebWorks

WebWorks

Josep reminded me about a tip we got that RIM had posted a tutorial explaining to webOS developers who to port their web apps to the BlackBerry WebWorks SDK. There is nothing really fascinating here but it is interesting to see RIM going after the different developer bases. WebOS made some serious headway in terms of what can be done by a web technology “app” and I am curious to see apps migrating from there.

If you are a developer you can find the tutorial on RIM’s HTML5 microsite here

  1. Well… People just can’t say they don’t have enough platform support to develop for QNX.

Now if only RIM would put some real effort into getting people to start coding…

  2. I like that RIMM is using QNX to spread out their portfolio of apps. I hope they integrate these apps to make it seamless with the QNX ecosystem.

  3. Funny, I did the opposite last Summer, just before HP killed the Touchpad. Very easy to change the loader and then it’s a matter of adapting/fixing the CSS to make it look good.
