QuickPull v5.1 Adds Support for BlackBerry OS 7 Devices but is it Necessary?

Quickpull 5

Lars let us know that Steelthorn has updated their popular QuickPull app to v5.1 recently. The new update brings official OS 7.0 support though it makes me wonder. Do you really need an app like QuickPull on the latest BlackBerry 7 devices? In case you don’t know QuickPull lets you easily perform or schedule a soft reset/reboot of your device. This was great when memory leaks were all the rage and we had very little headroom but things have gotten much better on BlackBerry 7 devices.

Still if you feel like you need a regular reboot you should check out the free QuickPull v5.1 in App World

  1. Yet another app that asks for “Trusted Application” status for no good reason.

  2. This is one of those apps that “works” like the memory booster apps, where they serve no real purpose other than to give the user the feeling of a faster device. If your device is sluggish after one or two days then most likely you’ve got some misbehaving app.

  3. I haven’t really need to use QuickPull since I was using OS 4.x

Certainly don’t need it with OS 7

  4. I don’t see a newer version in AppWorld at all! still 5.1.2 which does not work with OS7.
