 Evernote update Evernote update2

Evernote let us know that they have updated their popular note synching app for BlackBerry to v3.4 over the weekend. The focused on the most requested features which definitely makes sense. In other words they streamlined the application interface, simplified filtering, and made synching three times faster.

The mail change log for Evernote v3.4 is:

  • Improved home screen – for easier note taking and search
  • Notebooks and notes filtering
  • Improved syncing speed – 3X faster
  • And tons of little tweaks!

You can get the latest Evernote for BlackBerry from App World or read more about it on their blog announcement.

  1. I just grabbed the Playbook version the other day but haven’t really started using it. I’m still not sure how useful Evernote really is. Does anyone else have it that can elaborate on how they use it?

    • @BarracudaBob: it actually took me a bit of time to see the usefulness of Evernote for my own purposes. I had signed up for this a long time ago, but never used it until now. For me, with the use of the Chrome browser plug-in, I save web pages exactly as they are displayed so that I can access them on my PlayBook or BB even when they are long gone. An example of such web pages are ones for cooking recipes. I save them as I’m browsing on the computer and then when I hit the kitchen I can pull it up on my PB and cook from there.

    • Hi @BarracudaBob,

Alex from RIM here. The first time I used Evernote was to take notes at a team meeting at work. I’m a big whiteboard person, so having the ability to snap a photo of the board after a brainstorming session and sync it with my notes was a huge time saver for me. I’ve been a fan ever since.

Evernote’s Seth Hitchings talked with us at DevCon in October and offered some suggestions on making the most of this great app. Here’s a link to the video interview if you want to check it out:

  2. Interesting… when I go to AppWorld on the computer I see the new 3.4 version. When I do it on the device I see the older version…
