The Carrier IQ debacle continues with the latest US Senate investigation going on. Sprint has responded to to the Senate inquiry saying they have Carrier IQ on 26 million phones and AT&T reported it on 900,000 phones (Senate via BGR). This has prompted Sprint to make the decision to disable Carrier IQ on their phones according to MobileBurn.
Its nice to see that the Carrier IQ situation might simply quiet itself down. Until now it has not really shown as a big problem for BlackBerrys but RIM simply said to look for it in the installed applications on your phone where you can remove it.
