RIM Rolling Out BlackBerry PlayBook OS 1.0.8.6067 – Dingleberry Fix?

PlayBook OS Update Dingleberry

Corey pointed out on the forums that RIM is rolling out OS 1.0.8.6067. A few readers have already confirmed this on the tip line and Bla1ze @CrackBerry scored a screenshot. There is no word on if this update fixes the vulnerability that allowed for the Dingleberry exploit but that is my guess. Let us know if you do update and you had rooted previously.

Notes – Version 1.0.8.6067 – Size 5MB
This version offers support for Flash 10.3 and updates to Adobe AIR to support "developers in addition to DST and security fixes."

Let us know what you find!

  1. @cmwdotme: Rim has released a patch for the Dingleberry Jailbreak of the playbook. I would recommend not updating….

So guess it does fix the flaw 😉

Also, looks like the bridge is speedier. DST is also fixed in Oceania (bet Plexus is happy!). Other than that, I haven’t noticed anything else.

  2. Here are the changes I’ve noticed:
    – Flash seems more stable.
    – Blackberry bridge is speedier.

  3. Is there an OS archive somewhere? That way we could continue to explore the PlayBook when we have the time and stay safe the rest of the time :)

  4. well… this was fast…

  5. I figured they’d get to it soon enough. They’ve got plenty of things to do with OS 2.0 among many other developments, but now that it could pose a security risk they took the time to look at it.

  6. w8, does it mean, 2.0 will again be delayed !!
