The thing with jailbreaks is that once you have your first then the rest of your code is suddenly open to poke around and find more soft spots to exploit. RIM just patched the Samba exploit that allowed the Dingleberry team to jailbreak/root the BlackBerry PlayBook. Now one of the devs of Dingleberry, @cmwdotme, has announced on twitter that the latest PlayBook OS 1.0.8.6067 has been jailbroken yet again.
UPDATE: @cmwdotme clarified for me that this new exploit does not have to do with SSH. He was just making a comment in his tweet.
According to cmwdotme this new exploit is “based on the “DenyUsers=root” on SSH and RIM clearing the .ssh directory on boot.” My guess is we will see a QNX OS update coming right after a new Dingleberry tool is released at www.dingleberry.it to exploit this new vulnerability.
So any bets on how long this cat and mouse game will last?

RIM did say we could see OS updates as frequently as every 2 weeks which we of course know hasn’t been the case…jailbreak the OS though and you get an update within what, 1 week? I didn’t see any beneficial features with the release so I imagine it was just a fix.
