Desktop Manager Gets Small Update to v6.1.0.38 (B38)

Desktop Manager Update

I could have sworn that this version was released before but it looks like I was wrong. TTune pointed out that RIM has rolled out a small update to BlackBerry Desktop Software for PCs bringing it to v6.1.0 B38. The Published Date on RIM’s website says it came out on November 16th but this is the first I have seen of it.

If you compare the change log from the previous version to the current version then the main thing I notice different is:

  • BlackBerry smartphones – You can add the following new smartphones to the BlackBerry Desktop Software:
    • BlackBerry Curve 9350
    • BlackBerry Curve 9370

You can download Desktop Manager v6.1.0 B38 here. Let us know if you notice anything else different. I am kind of curious if it also adds support for the just announced Bold 9790 and Curve 9380.

  1. There are quite a bit of little cosmetic changes and especially the help pulldown menu is quite different. This is on top of the additional support for new devices.

  2. I wonder how it compares to the beta DM v7.. I’ve come to love that 7.0 one, but any update is a welcome one. 🙂

  3. DM7 is a completely new synchronisation mechanism entirely (no longer Intellisync).

  4. Never loveed desktop 6.. Why can’t desktop5 work with playbook!

  5. I’ve been running the (bundle 19) leak for a while now, wonder what’s happened to it?
