PressReader Brings 2,000+ NewsPapers to the BlackBerry PlayBook

PressReader PlayBook

PressReader made their newspaper service available to BlackBerry PlayBook users last month. It brought their catalog of over 2,000+ newspapers from 95 countries in 51 languages to the BlackBerry PlayBook with lots of heavy hitting names. It is also available for BlackBerry smartphones but only for a limited number of devices and has not been updated in over 2 years.

Their service includes top daily newspapers from each country will be available, including: Chicago Tribune, Daily Mail, International Herald, Irish Times, La Presse, La Tribune, Le Journal de Montréal, Le Monde, National Post, The Australian, The Guardian, and The Globe and Mail, The Washington Post, and many more.

Today their parent company, NewspaperDirect, announced that RIM is going to be preloaded on the BlackBerry PlayBook. I am not sure when the preloading will happen but you can get it now. Most newspapers and magazines available through PressReader are $0.99 per issue, or or you can get a subscription from with more details on their subscription page.

  2. Yes I find it easy to bookmark my news sites – and open when I need them.

    Although I understand the point being made – the pb is a business device, and can also be used as a personal device, so news info is often paid for as a company expense.
