Android Games Start Showing Up in App World for PlayBook OS 2.0 Beta Devices?

Shoppers Paradise Shoppers Paradise2

It looks like RIM’s tonnage of apps are coming to the PlayBook even before RIM’s current promise of a February 2012 PlayBook OS 2.0 release. Don pointed out to me that Second Gear Games has released Shopper’s Paradise HD for the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0+ devices. This game seems to be a port of their Android game and runs just fine in the PlayBook Android player. I guess this is what RIM means about Android apps not looking any different in App World except for requiring OS 2.0+.The amazing part is that the game is less than two megabytes…

Features include:

  • build or buy stores, movie theaters, hotels and warehouses
  • hire employees, manage inventory, pick best locations
  • maintain your properties and catch thieves
  • hire police officers to keep your town safe

You can pick up Shopper’s Paradise HD in App World now for $2.99 if you have a PlayBook running the OS 2.0 beta. Let us know if you spot more! Check out a video of the gameplay below:

  1. Gosh Darnit RIM… once I am on my way out.. YOU PULL ME BACK IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This opens a tremendous amount of possibilities with the beta.

If my RIM excitement factor was being measured on a heart rate monitor, you would have just seen a blip…. the pulse is back… weak… but back…

  2. I’m out anyways… If they don’t introduce an incremental update before the holiday season with autocorrect + some kind of mail client + small browser improvements + folder organization, they will not capture marketshare ever…

This bundling everything into one huge update is the worst decision they have made to date…

  3. Why does this company always promise release date for stuff and push back the dates? I’m so tempted to just switch to Apple. Phone, tablet.. Gah!!

  4. I can’t wait for promise of company.
I want to use it now.

  5. os build is better the befofe faster browser, folders, smoother operation of playbook…much more to come people you need patience once the updates here before or in january people with ipads will suck and those who left bb will be sad.
androids the way to go and rim realises that and are making improvements…..all my friends have already switched from jailbroken iphones to open source androids such has the nexus…….apple is going to be there but not so popular for long , kind of like justin bieber popular then not.
