RIM Does Their Own Video Comparison of BlackBerry 7 Devices to Older Models

 BlackBerry Comparisons

You can always count on RIM for some interesting YouTube submissions. Their latest are a string of comparison videos between BlackBerry 7 devices and their previous BlackBerry 6 generation or older models. I guess they are trying to show off why you should upgrade though that should be pretty obvious once you pick the devices up. My favorite though is the comparison between the 8300, 9350 and the 9350.

  1. I am debating on trading up for the 9360 from my 9300—Would you recommend. I am on T Mobile USA

    • Hi @jl,

Alex from RIM here. Just want to offer my .02 on the new Curve 9360. Here are a few of the bigger improvements you’ll get with the latest model:

-Camera and Screen: The Curve 9360 rocks a 5 MP camera and 480 x 320 pixel display for an even sharper image
-RAM: The 9360 packs 512 MB of RAM compared to the 9300’s 265 MB of RAM, making for a faster and more powerful smartphone
-OS7: Like all of our news smartphones, the Curve 9360 features the new BlackBerry 7 OS for a smoother and more enjoyable user experience

If you want to dig a little deeper, check out this “three things you should know” post about the Curve on our Inside BlackBerry Blog: http://bbry.lv/qwtcUM.

      Cheers,
      Alex, RIM Social Media Team

  2. I’ve seen videos showing the Bold 9300 going head to head with the Iphone 4 using IOS 5 and the Bood has much faster and smoother scrolling and the trackpad allowed greater control in browsing. And also, the touch gestures on QNX and waaaay better than IOS

  3. Hmm, it would be nice if this trade in deal was worldwide instead of been only for 6 countries, which is admittedly bet than the usual two suspects.

  4. same sentiment as yandar :) why not?

    • If your not in the US and to a lesser extent Canada, RIM doesn’t care what we think or want. A fair example of this is the one convenience key on the 9800 when it first came out “because AT&T wanted it like that” but we all have to put up without the extra key on every phone since as well. The rest of the world gives RIM its profits but we aren’t North America so we don’t count. End rant.

  5. Absolutely, the more convienence keys the better! That’s one of the many great features that separates the Blackberry phones from the rest. I hope they change this in their new upcoming phones.
