Since RIM acquired QNX they have been showing off cars powered or connected with QNX. Originally they were showing a 2009 Corvette and then they added a BMW roadster. Now Alex Kinsella posted some pictures of a QNX connected BMW X5 which looks pretty slick. I am really curious to see where RIM and QNX are going with these QNX powered cars and any tie in with BlackBerry devices in the real world. BMW cars have usually been dominated with iPod and iOS support but who knows maybe QNX will be powering them in the future…
Who knows RIM does have a trademark on BlackBerry Drive. Maybe we could have a BlackBerry BBX Drive!

Actually, the QNX-powered BMW ConnectedDrive system provides very cool connectivity with BlackBerry phones — the system can even read your BB email aloud while you’re heading down the highway.
In fact, this system was shorlisted for a 2011 Global Mobile Award. BMW and QNX were the joint finalists. Check it out: http://onqpl.blogspot.com/2011/01/qnx-powered-bmw-infotainment-systems.html

Very cool! Maybe someday they can have PlayBook docking stations where you can download the car manual.
