In lieu of yesterdays news about Sprint raising their ETF(Early Termination Fee) to $350, the group over at SprintFeed also got info on Sprint raising their upgrade fees from $18 to $36. No one is quite sure why Sprint is doing this, and many people feel it is part of an Iphone recovery plan. With this double whammy, I am sure there are more than a few upset Sprint customers. These changes come in to effect the same day as the early ETF hike, September 9th, 2011.

And I am sure the remaining 3 will follow. Just one more reason not to buy phones from carriers.

We all know you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Either respect the contract you signed or just buy your phone(s) unsubsidized, then you’re free to do what you want when you want. I just can’t get worked up about these types of stories….just not a big deal.

No surprise really. The bean counters I’m sure can see the amount of money they are leaving on the table by not matching ATT and VZW.
