I am not sure exactly when this happened but I remember checking earlier in the week and Twitter was still sending me to the subpar mobile site. Brian let me know that Twitter is now forwarding BlackBerry PlayBook users to their HTML5 tablet site which is way more usable. I am absolutely loving it now and it sort of makes a PlayBook Twitter app semi redundant except for notifications. I will definitely be keeping an eye on this one.
Check it out on your PlayBook at www.twitter.com

I still prefer using the full desktop site from my PlayBook.

I noticed this last week too and it’s better than any of the Twitter clients on the PlayBook
.
The web version of Seesmic also works quite well if you want to manage multiple social network accounts

Weird how some see it before others. I am on it everyday and it didn’t show until yesterday!
Browser settings? Dunno
The new html5 site is pretty slick

Could be a cookie or an account thing, but it was definitely available before yesterday.

Don’t use twitter but go HTML5 go! Looks like the Jobs push for HTML5 might come to bite him. If this can easily be made compatible with safari, chrome and PB it would seem a no brainer for developers.

The thing with the web interface (full desktop, haven’t tried this with my PB yet) is that for users who are in a lot of conversations (or are getting a lot of @mentions) the need to switch between tabs & lack of notification (audible or visual) for @mentions or DMs makes it WAY more difficult to use the web interface. I am assuming the same will be true for the web interface on the PlayBook but hey it’s better than what was before and with no “Official” app out I’ll take what I can get!
