OTA Links for Foursquare Alpha with BBM Integration

FourSquare BBM Beta

When Foursquare issued their update today to v3.0 they removed the BBM integration from the app along with removing it from the Alpha build. Some people have upgraded but didn’t realize they were losing the BBM integration but thankfully there is a way to get back to square one. RR_yy posted some OTA links for both OS 5.0 and OS 6.0 giving you back the previous alpha with BBM support. Others that had issues with downloading the previous alpha may also have better luck with this update.

You can pick up the Foursquare alpha with BBM integration OTA at this link. Let us know how it works for you!

  1. I tried using this version with BBM integration. I kept getting an error saying something about the foursquare app had exceeded it’s allowable downloads, or something like that.
I would get the “BBM Connected Application” prompt but it would fail at 3 of 4 processes it was doing. Gave up, just using 3.0.2.

  2. Yea it doesn’t work 🙁

  3. Someone had mentioned on another site that RIM is limiting BBM connected applications to 100 total users (presumably for beta testing) until the app has been released to App World. That’s why people are getting the “exceeded allowable downloads” and “disconnected by RIM” messages with the foursquare Alpha. I’d assume this won’t change until BBM 6.0 is officially released.

  4. It worked for me. Using bbm 6.0.111. But I can’t see my badges on my bbm profile. Though it says badge has been added to your bbm profile.
