RIM Adds 1+ Million New Subscribers in EMEA Region in Less than 3 Weeks

RIM sales EMEA

Things are looking up for RIM outside of the US. They announced on Twitter this week that they have blow past one million new subscribers in the EMEA (Europe Middle East & Africa) in less than 3 weeks. That is about 50,000 activations a day in that region alone. I have been really surprised to see the growth RIM is seeing even though they have yet to release a significant new device is over a year. This should all get much more interesting when the whole new lineup launches starting with the BlackBerry Bold 9900 when RIM has new wares to hock.

Thanks to everyone that sent this in!

  1. This will power them through their problems. Without this international growth.. they’d be done.

  2. And next week the playbook is slated to be released in Indonesia… This will further explode the bb pop growth… Indo is BB crazy! PB advanced sales have already been crazy for them!

  3. And people say that RIM is dead. They have lost a few notches here in the states, but their growth continues to spread like wild fire everywhere else.

  4. Is the Torch being sold outside of the US or is it truly an AT&T exclusive? Because I consider the Torch to be a significant new device and it was released in August of last year. In fact, some might say that the Torch was BlackBerry’s first real touchscreen device as the Storm was one massive work around for an OS that was not ready for touchscreen input.

  5. Yessirrrr BlackBerry is not dead

  6. Great news, when the bold touch comes it should be interesting

  7. If you take a closer look or do some research blackberry is one of the best thing that ever happen for a lot of countries. For the international market its not about the OS are the speed or what it can do it all about BBM! Only in North America you’ll see people complaining about stuff like that.

    • To me, there are many things that the BBOS does better then the rest and they are compelling enough to make BlackBerrys worthy of my dollars. BBM is just one.
