YouMail Visual Voicemail App Updated to v2.4.11

ShvartzBerry let us know that YouMail has quietly updated the BlackBerry client for visual voicemail service. YouMail offers both paid and free (Ad supported) versions of their voicemail solution but they have been having trouble getting a solid BlackBerry client out there. Their recent upgrade to v2.3.4 offered up some nice new features but we could not find a change log for this latest update. Let us know if you spot one!

You can pick up the updated v2.4.11 of YouMail in App World

  1. My absolute FAV app!!!! The greetings! Priceless! Lmao! :-O

  2. This update did three things:

    1) Added a tab with a list of recent “hang ups” – now you can see who hang up without leaving a message within the app vs. having to go to your call log.

    2) Improved caller ID by adding city/state for each call and hyperlinking to a map

    3) Added a ton of optimizations/bug fixes, as we’re continuing to focus on reliability and speed in the app.

    • 1) The app appears to display one week’s worth of hangups.

      2) Might you consider using the BlackBerry Maps or Google Maps API instead of launching a web page?

      3) It gets better and better with each release! Looking forward to the next round of updates.

      • 1) We’ll likely expand how far back the hangups go. We wanted to see if people liked it before doing the optimizations to go back further in time.

        2) We’ll definitely consider an embedded map. Again we first wanted to see how often/how important the feature of drilling down on city/state is.

Thanks for the feedback! We’re working hard on improving the app as quickly as we can.

  3. I saw a changelog on AppWorld when I went to update.
I can tell you that I’ve been having a problem with one feature. One of the “tips” is to use the Speakerphone button on the BlackBerry to toggle between speakerphone and handset. That simply does not work for me. It’s not the biggest deal on the Torch since I have the touchscreen. I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem.
