BlackBerry App World Website Gets a Nice Redesign

BlackBerry App World Redesign-w600-h600 BlackBerry App World Redesign2-w600-h600

With the announcement RIM sent out to developers we knew that there would be something interesting in App World today. After some on and off downtime through the morning RIM has brought up a nicely redesigned version of the App World Web Store website. The new design brings some cool new visual effects along with new product pages. I am loving the new white background in the app pages which is sooo much easier to read!

Check it out for yourself at and let us know what you think! You will still get a bunch of Maintenance pages if you do things like view more reviews but it is rounding out nicely. Hopefully App World 3.0 for devices is just as slick!

  1. -whistles- break me off a piece of that!!!! Lookinh chic, sexy and fabulous.. Now if only I had a shiney new 9900 to run this baby thru…

  2. I suppose for extremely generous definitions of “nice” this is true…

On the other hand, there’s no visual indicator of how the carousel works (you can’t drag your mouse pointer as has become fairly standard in web interfaces). Once you realize that you are supposed to click the edges of the graphics it looks like a bad try at three card monte, using a pointless shuffle animation that’s visually perplexing and needlessly complex/slow. A simple (and more or less standard) slide would have been great…

It seems that there is still no method of locating smartphone or tablet only apps from the desktop search.

As far as i can tell it’s still missing the push installation feature that android market has had for quite some time.

    Proxy errors right and left.

But hey, other than that stuff, the new site is just spiffy 😉

  3. Great start it still needs a lot of work

  4. Ok I’m officially in love that new look is so sleek bring on app world 3.0

  5. the website look pretty nice…

  6. As much as I love the design, navigation is still hard, I wish I could just press arrow keys to navigate through featured apps
