While there are quite a few QR Code scanners out there for BlackBerry QRem is the first one I have seen that lets you generate and create QR codes from your device. They built their app to let you create your own QR codes for Contacts, Calendar Events, Tasks, URLs, Memos, PIN numbers, GPS coordinates, Emails, Phone Numbers, and SMS messages. It adds a new context menu item to applications that let you simply select “Show QR Code” and it will generate a QR code for that item.
Its kind of a cool way to share a contact between different devices or a calendar event. Best of all it is totally free. You can pick up QRem in App World here.

FYI, you may not have seen them, but there are some other QR code readers that also allow you to generate QR codes on your BB, including both Barcode Assistant and BizBarcode (two of the best all-round QR code apps for the BB.
BizBarcode can generate contact, calendar, email, map, phone number, SMS, free text, and url QR codes, although you have to enter the information.
Barcode Assistant also gives you a ‘View Barcode’ context entry in your menu for the BB apps.
However, one difference appears to be that Barcode Assistant and BizBarcode both then have ‘Save’ available once you generate the QR code, while QRem does not appear to allow you to do anything with the generated QR code…

Hi @Tosk59,
Alex from RIM here. Thanks for those great suggestions.
My personal favourite QR reader app is Code Muncher – it’s a great reader, plus it makes me smile. There’s a free (http://bbry.lv/iilRG5) and a paid (http://bbry.lv/mGTko3) version, both available through BlackBerry App World.
Cheers,
Alex, RIM Social Media Team

This app is for OS 6.0+ devices only. They need to correct their entry on appworld.
