Marvell Providing Processors for “Multiple Next Generation BlackBerrys”

We know that RIM is moving to Qualcomm Snapdragon processors for their upcoming top of the line BlackBerry smartphones with 1.2Ghz processors. We know that RIM is putting a Marvell 800Mhz processor in the upcoming BlackBerry Next Gen Curve but a new statement by Marvell makes me wonder if there is another device. Marvell CFO Clyde Hosein said on Friday

that the company hasn’t lost all of its RIM business and it will be offering processors for “multiple” next-generation BlackBerry that should enter in the markets later this year. via USAMarketNews

Ashley pointed this out in the forum and I thought I would extend the speculation as to what these other devices are. Current rumors have the unannounced Curve Touch CDMA version using a Qualcomm MSM 8655 800Mhz CPU and I have only seen it on the CDMA roadmaps. Its hard to keep a handle on all of the upcoming device rumors since they have changed multiple times but let us know what you think! We can all also collectively thank Marvell for failing to produce a proper 1.2Ghz chip which forced RIM to make changes to their OS (including the PlayBook) to move over to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform.
