Since I picked up my BlackBerry PlayBook I have been looking for a solid ebook reader for it. While Kobo reader is nice they do not let you bring your own books which is a huge turn off. While Overdrive does a great job as an ePub (eBook file format) reader for my smartphone I have been looking for a counterpart on my PlayBook.
VOS IT Solutions must have been reading my mind when they released their EPUB Reader for the PlayBook. While the app could use refinement is definitely shows promise and opens up about 9/10 eBooks I have tried. At $1.99 EPUB Reader it is a pretty decent deal but hopefully they will keep on improving the app and we will get quite a few other ePub readers for the PlayBook.

About bringing it with you I meant you can use your own epub ebooks instead of only ones offered by Kobo or Kindle

A Google search should tell you how you can move your Barnes and Noble ebooks to other devices.

This app does not work. It will not open one of my more than 400 epub books. 9/10 books is not the experience I have been having for the last few days.

Weird do all your ePubs come from the same source? Have you tried tweaking them with Calibre?

Nope they are from a variety of sources, and I have tired calibre. I’m stumped.

App has had a very nice update with prev/next buttons, bookmarks, and improved calibre support.

I have a bunch of epubs on Adobe Digital Editons on my laptop. Is there a way to move them to the new Book Reader on Playbook?
