Our friends from RealityMirror.me sent us some pictures of a BlackBerry 9790 which really has me scratching my head. According to the tipster this device is significantly faster and thinner than the current BlackBerry Bold 97XX series devices. It looks like it might simply be an upgrade to the BlackBerry Bold 9780 but that makes me wonder where the BlackBerry Bold 9900 stands. This is definitely not a 9900 though it could possibly be a prototype device but it looks like a revamped 9780.
So far we know this:
Hopefully we will know more soon!

i think its possible it’ll be a new version of the 9780 and the 9900 will be a newer version of the 9000, not a big difference between them just size i guess

Is it just me or does it look like the apollo or the unreleased new curve?
Could they be changing names like the Tour (Vzw) to Bold?

I guess they figure some people want something smaller than the 9900.
Not sure this is bad as long as they know how much to make of each unit.

Probably one of the bridge devices going towards the 9900

I think this a waste of time, they should be working on their next gen phones that will finally run QNX. Besides a smaller screen would suck for a touch screen.

With the PlayBook there isn’t really a need for large screen size for a smart phone.
