Doom is one of those classic games that will hopefully be ported properly to the BlackBerry PlayBook once the native SDK is available. Until then László Németh has done a great job of porting Mike Welsh’s flash version of Doom for the BlackBerry PlayBook. This version is only the embedded shareware episode but it does work. It has some known issues I will list below but still is nicely nostalgic. Now I just need Wolfenstein for the BlackBerry PlayBook.
Check out PlayDoom in App World at this link.
Known problems:
-Multitouch implementation is far from perfect, freelook and movement/action buttons must be touched in a certain order to work together.
-The buttons could stuck in certain situations.
-Only the shareware episode is playable.
-Very minor sound stuttering.

I’m tired of childish games, I’m glad to see something more adult like, but I’d like to see some good quality games. I’d like to see something newer like Call of Duty, GTA, MLB 2011, Madden 2011, FIFA 2011, Company of Heroes, Command and Conquer 3, Crysis, Assasins Creed, World of Warcraft, Starcraft 2, R-Type, Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Gears of War, World in Conflict, Medal of Honor etc…
I’m even willing to pay for these hq games if made available and I think alot of people will too because alot of us Playbook owners want RIM to succeed and better Android and Apple.
