Twitter for BlackBerry v2.0 hit the Beta Zone at the beginning of this month and it is now ready for prime time. RIM let us know that this new version will be rolling out to everybody in App World in the next 24 hours. This new version is part of RIM’s new iterative development approach where they release smaller updates more frequently which is kind of cool. We told you before that this new version features simplified navigation but here is how RIM describes the new update:
- With Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones v2.0, users will experience simplified navigation and faster searching capabilities. A re-designed Navigation Bar provides quick access to popular Twitter features. The Nav Bar also includes a new “Compose Tweet” button to create Tweets from anywhere in the app.
- Additionally, users can search for Tweets and people from a single location, and view Trends and Saved Searches, unifying the Twitter search experience. For BlackBerry 6 users, the updated app also incorporates relevant Twitter results into their Universal Search results.
Keep on hitting the Twitter for BlackBerry app link in App World for the update. I know the “up to 24 hours” wait sucks but imagine if only RIM had a technology that would allow them to push updates immediately…
