Video Chat App For the BlackBerry PlayBook Available May 3rd

RIM today announced the availability of the new BlackBerry video Chat for the Blackberry PlayBook. The video chat allows you to place video calls over Wi-Fi to other PlayBook users.

The application is being showcased at this year BlackBerry World, it will be available on May 3rd, pushed to as an update to all PlayBook users over the air. The app will also be available on BlackBerry App World for users to download.

  1. I hope this means the companion, regular BBM is available. I can’t speak for everyone, but, I find it annoying reaching for my phone when I am using my playbook to check bbm messages. I love the email integration, BBM integration will only enhance things

    Funny I tried to go to the blackberry site from my playbook to have a look at the 9900 and I’m redirected to the touch site and in the “featured apps” section they have a shot of app world that still has Skype on it for 2.99.

    They clearly have known skype is important from day one. Hope you get it soon RIM.
