Hands On With the BlackBerry Bold 9900 – Tons of Pictures!

IMG_3164

I just got a bit of trigger happy fun with the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and I have to say I am impressed. The software is still a bit buggy but there was not ONE HOURGLASS! It was awesome. Essentially “Liquid Graphics” means no hourglass to me. I will have some commentary on the pics soon but for now simply enjoy the eye candy!

  1. Given the delay in release I hope they get some wow apps based one the compass etc. at launch.

I think this will sell a ton. As I said elsewhere, it may not have QNX but with a playbook in hand the phone OS becomes less important. Just want something that looks and feels good can type email, and has no lags! Seems like this fit the bill.

Now more playbook annucements please :)

  2. I had just about decided that Torch 2 would be next – but looking at that keyboard and the screen (bigger than I thought they’d get into the form factor) I’m thinking again. Does the keyboard have a feel that’s as good as it looks?

  3. Yes, I asked in a previous post if its the same as the Bold 9000.

    • This is from Crackberry.com: “Awesome keyboard. The device is tied down for security reasons, so haven’t been able to really stress test it fully, but even so you the typing I’ve done on it feels great. The extra width on the keyboard makes a big difference and RIM has re-shaped the keys slightly to maximize the strike area on each key.”

      I can’t wait!

  4. RIM promised us <1% latency in BB 7. The result: super fast response time! Looks like they kept their promise. HUGE kudos to them!!!

Marc, the keyboard is apparently the same as the Bold 9000! Same size & width, and you do know the Bold 9000 had the best keyboard ever!

These devices will sell like hotcakes. Best to pre-order!

The Torch 2 will also be a great device with lots of extra screen space and a very decent keyboard too.

  5. 1) No hourglass? And you celebrate this like some big victory? It should have ALWAYS been like that!

    2) I’ve had 4 BlackBerry. All of them had no hourglass out of the box, with nothing installed on them and BBM not running. Let’s wait until someone buys this thing and actually tests it, I mean, in real life conditions.

  6. 543.9 MB Rom? How does that 768 MB memory pan out…
