Targus is not a name that is synonymous with BlackBerry accessories but in the mobile computing market they are huge. They have announced their entry into RIM’s new “Built for BlackBerry” program starting off with the highly anticipated BlackBerry PlayBook. They will be starting their accessory line with
Truss Leather and Truss Nylon Case/Stand. The Truss provides a dual solution, acting both as a carrying case and transformable hands-free viewing stand. The leather Truss will be available in three color schemes of black with blue interior; black with a black interior and brown with an orange interior at an MSRP of $44.99. The Nylon Truss will be available in black with a red interior and black with charcoal interior at an MSRP of $34.99.
The portfolio-style Zierra Leather Case, designed to mimic a billfold, contains room for your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet plus business cards, credit cards, photos, notes and a pen. It will be available in two color schemes: Black with a burgundy interior and red with brown interior at an MSRP of $54.99.
No word on when the two cases will be available but they will be sold through Targus.com along with other resellers.

That looks nice and quite functional. Might consider it when I got myself a Playbook! 😀

I’m gonna sport my PB the same as I do my BB: exposed to the world. (Well, I do use a hip holster for the BB – but only for the rare times when I don’t have it next to me on my desk…)
I just find most cases add a little too much in the cumbersome department for phones, and I don’t see that changing for tablets.
The 7″x1/2″ form factor is great – but if I paid it out to 1″ thickness and 8-9″, it kind of defeats the purpose – I can no longer slip it into a jacket pocket comfortably, nor can I hold it as comfortably.

The Truss looks pretty nice. Beats the heck out of that garbage thing Apple is going to be providing with the iPad2!

expensive, i would rather use a skin with a screen protector, makes it easier to carry the device around…

Don’t want any scratches 🙁 plus a stand makes it nicer to use when on stable ground..
