BeBuzz v4.0 Released (Aka BerryBuzz) With New User Interface and More

bebuzz4.6 bebuzz4.1

BellShare has updated one of their flagship apps, BerryBuzz, to version 4.0 and renamed it to BeBuzz at the same time. My guess is that RIM forced the rename but who knows. The new version 4.0 of BeBuzz adds a whole slew of new features including:

  • Toasts – Shows small unobtrusive messages at the bottom or top of the screen for notifications and incoming messages
  • BlackBerry Sound Profile Settings – Enable/disable LED, audible reminders, vibrate and toasts depending on your active BlackBerry sound profile
  • Custom Disco Colors – Now you can finally create your own disco colors! Share them via e-mail, Twitter and Facebook.
  • New Flashing Type "Smooth Pulse" – In addition to the regular LED flashing BeBuzz 4 adds the option to use a smooth pulsing LED light
  • Completely Reworked User Interface – Sleeker, cleaner and more powerful
  • More bug fixes, many minor changes and improvements

You can pick up this latest version of BeBuzz in the store for $5.99. This update is $1.99 for current users of BerryBuzz 3.x but users who purchased BerryBuzz after January 1st of this year are eligible for a free upgrade.

  1. Will definitely pay the 1.99 for the update. The toast feature is alluring

  2. Hmmm . . . the app now handles its ringtones natively as an alternative to the BB Profile manager. Which is great accept for a few problems, one using the native profile manager does not seem to work properly any more, it does not transfer over those setting to the native app and the native app does not seem to recognize the sample ringtones on my Torch (several of which I use).

  3. Downloaded 4.0 and tried to find upgrade price. $5.99 only price I found. Downgraded back to version 3 and it’s good enough for me.

  4. just downloaded this. so far so good. Toast is interesting, but I’m not sure just yet.

  5. Berry Buzz (I mean BeBuzz) has always been an essential part of my blackberry. I like the upgraded version – it adds greater customization of the repeating ring tones and has a better user interface. The toast feature would be useful if I didn’t already have Leave It On (the best visual notification app) already installed. All in all, worth the $1.99.
