LPlayer Brings Last.fm Streaming to the BlackBerry PlayBook

154879

The idiots at Last.fm killed off their BlackBerry app back in september of 2010. Since then nobody has really stepped up and released a 3rd party Last.fm client for BlackBerry especially since Last.fm now charges $3/month to use mobile apps. Still I know quite a few users who are pissed they cannot get their Last.fm streams on their BlackBerry.

UltraVisual decided to step up and fix that problem at least on the BlackBerry PlayBook by releasing LPlayer for free in App World. LPlayer simply lets you stream music from Last.fm to your BlackBerry. With the PlayBook’s powerful browser you could probably do it from there too but its interesting to see the PlayBook getting apps before its launch that current BlackBerry smartphones do not enjoy.

  1. good to see, RIM is really working overtime with developers and publicity.

I hope the PB doesnt fail, and i wish they would put this much effort in to new apps and upcoming devices all the time.

  2. I used to love last.fm. I really haven’t used it on any of my devices in a long time. I’m to see that someone brought back the BB client, and I will be checking it out later.

  3. Ditto I haven’t bothered with last.FM in a long time
