UberSocial (Formerly UberTwitter) Gets API Access Reinstated by Twitter

After the fun drama this weekend Twitter has confirmed on their website that they have reinstated UberSocial’s (Formerly called UberTwitter) access to the Twitter API. I am not sure what prompted Twitter to do something so public other than making a point. Could be UberMedia was not responding fast enough to Twitter’s demands but it looks like the coin has flipped now. This is the update on Twitters website:

We’ve given the developers of twidroyd and UberSocial for Blackberry (formerly UberTwitter) access to the Twitter API again. Our initial review indicates that steps have been taken to remedy the violations for these applications.

When the developer updates twidroyd and Ubersocial, you’ll be able to download their updates to access Tweets again on these applications.

In other words you should be able to pick up a working version of UberSocial at

  1. Its good to see a great app get reinstated. Happiness to many.

  2. Why does the official Twitter app get such a bad rap?

I’ve tried socialscope and ubersocial, and i still find the official one to be.. well more official.

ubersocial is pretty nice but the ads are annoying and i don’t want to pay $4.99 a year to turn them off.

and socialscope doesn’t have as good a facebook integration as i thought it would.

  3. Uber cool they’re back.

    Yeah…I went there. 🙂

    • Ugh, in typical App World fashion, UberTwitter is STILL AVAILABLE and can be downloaded. What IS it with RIM that they can’t have their act together on a matter like this? Sheesh…Apple would NEVER let their customers see such a disjointed experience in App Store.

  4. good to see but ill keep using social scope

  5. I maintain that i still don’t need it… 😀
