TuneIn Radio Updated to v1.7 With Alarm and Sleep Timer

TuneIn radio is by far my favorite app and is probably the most used app in my BlackBerry. It allows you to listen to local AM/FM radio from around the world. This application is what I would call a super app, because they just added a feature I been wanting for ages on my BlackBerry. A radio app that I could set an alarm to wake me up to my favorite radio station. With this new update you can set a timer so you can go to sleep listening to the radio and wake up to it as well. Nikolaus let us know that the application received an update to V1.7 with the following features:

    Sleep timer
Configurable option to play your last station automatically when the application starts
Dynamic detection of connection speed and warning when it’s not fast enough for the current stream

In addition, we fixed a number of important bugs:

Improved permissions management. This should resolve most of the cases where the application refused to start
    Connection detection sometimes worked incorrectly
Support for taking cellular connection parameters from device service books
Detection of a situation when user selected WiFi only mode but WiFi connection is not available

To download the update you can pick it up at this LINK.

  1. Whoah! That is wicked that you can set a sleep timer and alarm! With a desktop charging dock you can say ‘bye bye’ to your clock radio. Definitely a super app.

  2. Sweet! I love this app and the alarm and sleep timer, those are excellent additions.

  3. Nice. Very nice.

  4. Is this working for everybody ? Mine does not seem seem to be able to fetch the playlist since the update

  5. Great to see another app I use get an update.

  6. I still don’t get it. Why some radio stations can’t work!

    • couldn’t tell you, bad stream or coding

    • Are you talking about stations that worked previously or stations that you just can’t find? If you’ve never listened to them in the app before, there is good chance that the particular station is blocked due to licensing. Not sure about those that worked previously and now don’t work after the update.

  7. This is working great for me here in the pacific northwest. It finds all the stations I expect to see plus a few more. Props to KPLU as the grooviest station around.

  8. This sounds like an awesome app. now if only a media player (playing stored music/video files on phone) would do the same!

  9. FINALY!!! a working radio app!!! i’ve tried it and i love it!! i have so many radio apps and nun of them worked 100% until now 😀

  10. very nice upgrade, when im done BETA testing slacker i might try this out.

  11. does the app have to stay on in order for the alarm feature to work?
