RIM Teaches You How to Flirt with BlackBerry Messenger

I am glad to see that RIM’s video department is finally getting with the program. We have had enough videos showing how small businesses and artists use BBM and their BlackBerrys. Now we finally have a set commercial simply titled “BBM Flirt” detailing how the 35 million worldwide BBM users use the app to flirt and ______. The timing is perfect right after Valentine’s Day.

What do you think. Check out the shorter 30 second clip version below:

  1. This is great to see. Show the world why we LOVE bbm.

  2. Very well done. I like how there was a mention of the delivery notifications. That’s such an underrated feature

  3. lol, the first step to dating is to get their pin…not their name or engage in face to face conversation…

  4. Good to see more consumer focus ads for sure. Check out the great app from TAT

  5. Awsome

  6. I like it because it’s so true. That’s the first thing i ask for whenever i see someone with a BB and we’re about to be friends 🙂
    Good stuff RIM.

  7. I saw almost all Torches in the commercial. Why not some other models?

  8. It’s a very good commercial. I love BBM, it’s a unique platform that lets you do so much.
I’ve got just one gripe with it though. When the phone has been off or in bedside mode, it retrieves all messages and shows them delivered at current time. I wish there was a way to see the actual time of sending.

    • Huh, never had this issue even on OS4x versions of BBM.

If you scroll up to the individually sent messages the time stamp changes to indicate when they were respectively sent.

It may be some config setting for the conversation formatting that is causing your issue?

      • I don’t recall if I had this issue with earlier builds. I’m pretty sure my wife has the same happening on her Torch. I’ll have to confirm that tonight. I’m also on OS 6.0, so it might be OS specific bug.

  9. flirting with bbm?
    will this really sell devices?

how about warning people off BBM stalkers who stare at the D until it goes to a R?
