RIM Makes Flickr App Discontinuation Official

We already told you it was going to happen but now RIM has finally decided to allow us access to the Flickr discontinuation notice. Now that we have the details we know that not only will the app no longer be supported it will actually no longer work after March 1st 2011. You will get an error saying Request Failed. Please try again later and RIM recommends uninstalling the app. Once again not a huge surprise since RIM has not updated the app in over a year but still I hope RIM combines this functionality in an all in one app to upload pictures and video soon.

  2. Just as I suspected from the prior leak, it WILL just stop working.

    RIM likely knows somewhere the PIN of every device with Flickr installed. They should push a notification.

  4. I use flickr (not the app). I’ve always found the app to be lacking and down right horrible. It even made the Facebook app look excellent. lol. So this goes along with ICQ. Should’ve been gone a long time ago.
