RIM Posts DevCon Asia 2011 Developer Round Up Video

RIM’s social media team is pumping out the videos this week. Their latest video is a round up of developer reactions from RIM’s first DevCon Asia that was held this month in Bali Indonesia. RIM has also posted a video highlighting the “Love Indonesia” app that was the winner of RIM’s Super Apps challenge in the region. We always hear of the widespread usage of BlackBerrys in Indonesia but it is nice to get a taste of it.

  1. I’m not sure if we count this as overflow of adverts by rim..

  2. Cool stuff.

  3. Looks like these developer conferences have been a pretty good success. I know they just had a “Developer Day” in Dubai, so hopefully we continue to get some innovative and creative apps from all over the world.

  4. Hi Berry Review Team,

Alex from RIM, here. Thanks for highlighting our videos from DevCon Asia. It’s great to see all of the excitement from the global developer community and the growth of BlackBerry PlayBook app development to date.
‘Barrist’ – we want to see more compelling apps from all over the world, too!

The recent release of BlackBerry WebWorks SDK (http://devblog.blackberry.com/2011/01/blackberry-webworks-sdk) and Adobe AIR for the BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK (http://us.blackberry.com/developers/tablet/devresources.jsp?IID=DEVTAB01182011), allows developers to create apps using the platform of their choice, including Adobe Flash and AIR, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. The options are helping the number of PlayBook apps on BlackBerry App World to grow quickly. We’re also providing a free PlayBook (http://blogs.blackberry.com/2011/01/free-blackberry-playbook-tablet-offer) incentive for developers whose apps are accepted before March 15, along with a webinar series called “Developing using the BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for BlackBerry Tablets,” which begins this week. Keep following us on the Developer’s blog (http://devblog.blackberry.com) for the most up-to-date development information and news.

    Cheers!

    Alex, RIM Social Media Team
