Remote Control Your PC from Your BlackBerry Over WiFi or Bluetooth Using Vectir

I spotted a thread in the forums by dshcpa1 talking about a PC remote control program called Vectir that I just started trying out. The app is a regular J2ME MIDP app that happens to support BlackBerrys allowing you to control quite a few of your PC’s functions from your BlackBerry. Vectir has been around for awhile with the last update in November of 2010 but this is the first I have heard of it.

Vectir has built in support for Winamp, Windows Media Player, iTunes and PowerPoint along with the ability to act as a keyboard, mouse, and volume control for your WinXP, Vista, or Windows 7 computer. It even has a remote desktop feature but I found it kind of laggy. The cool part is that each app has its own interface for controlling it.

The Vectir app has a nice 30 day trial after which you can pick up a copy of the app for $19.95. (currently $14.95 in a limited sale). It is confirmed to work on quite a few newer BlackBerrys over WiFi though the Bluetooth support list is slimmer.

Check out the free trial at and let us know what you think!

  1. A bit pricey, but seems to have alot of functionality..

Good looking app for those that need that extra control method

  2. Might be worth it for my media pc when/if I need a full keyboard. But I agree it is a bit pricey.

  3. Mobimouse is a bit cheaper @ $9.99 (search the BR store) but I found it wasn’t as reliable. I agree, it’s an app that either has value to your or doesn’t, not something you would buy just for having on your blackberry.

Personally, I use it almost daily.
