pMessenger Offers Yet Another Cross Mobile Platform IM Option

pMessenger pMessenger2

There has been a growing number of cross mobile platform IM apps coming out in the last year or so. Tashanna let us know about another one called pMessenger that I had never heard of before. From what I can tell it was released in beta form a long time ago but it actually has a good number of people using it. They offer pMessenger apps for BlackBerry, Android, and iPhone devices so they have most of the platforms covered. Supposedly a new version of the BlackBerry client is coming soon (pictured above) which should add a nice set of features to the mix.

If you were looking for YACMPIMC (Yet Another Cross Mobile Platform IM Client) check out pMessenger at www.pmessenger.net or you can simply download the client at www.pmessenger.net/bb. Let us know how you think it compares if you give it a spin!

  1. Do it support push notification?

  2. Problem with these cross-platform apps is you have to get your friends to download it.. I find it kind of annoying to have to do that, so I stick with native BBM which everyone with a BB (most of my friends) already has.

    • Can we just stick to normal im (wlm, gtalk) :)

      • Even those, most of my friends aren’t even on anymore. WLM used to be big here, but most people just Facebook chat (where’s native Facebook chat RIM?) or text/BBM.

These programs kind of lose their appeal since there are native apps available to almost everyone.

  3. I really don’t understand the point of apps like this when programs like ICQ, AOL instant messenger and Yahoo Messenger have been available for years.

  4. I’ve always liked them. I miss kik, but I’ll try a new one.
