BlackBerry Theme Studio Public Beta 2 Officially Released!

We can now wait for a whole slew of new themes for the latest BlackBerry 6 devices. RIM has officially released BlackBerry Theme Studio 6 Public Beta 2 in the Developer Zone which will provide “extensive support for new (and upgraded) BlackBerry smartphones with BlackBerry 6 OS, as well as robust import functionality for theme projects created using previous versions of BlackBerry Theme Studio.” This official release comes just a few hours after it was leaked.

The new Theme Studio also has a much easier way to export themes to App World. Developers are now also able to import previous theme projects for devices before BlackBerry 6. Hopefully RIM will finally have a release candidate of Theme Studio before they ship BlackBerry OS 6.1 but I am not crossing my fingers.

  1. RIM should have released this before the Torch.

  2. To be honest. Yes. They should have. But when have they ever launch certain aspects like this when we thought they should have? Lol. The 9780 hasn’t been out too long, the 9670 is out, now 9650 and 9330 now on os 6 is probably what they were waiting on.

  3. Great. Now we can see what os 6 themes come out now.

  4. Definitely still a beta! In Theme Builder 5 I could change the default RIM themes but v6 is making very difficult!!! I’ll leave it to the pros until the final release is available.

  5. I’ve been thinking of getting into theme building, just for my own personal tweaks to the stock theme.. but it looks like there’s still some bugs to work out.
