More Screenshots of BlackBerry OS 6.1 Homescreen Options

panes  Panes3

Earlier today we saw a screenshot of the new homescreen panes options in the upcoming BlackBerry OS 6.1. It is not exactly everything I was hoping for but its a nice step in the right direction. Now we have more screenshots of the BlackBerry OS 6.0 homescreen scooped by N4BB from OS for the BlackBerry Curve Sedona. There is nothing really drastically new in this update but we now know we will be able to select the default number of rows to show in the panes view of the homescreen. We also now have confirmation that you can opt to only have one pane showing All apps which is probably how I will run. 🙂

  1. “OS”

hah, yeah looks like an early OS release to me.

  2. I think that’s probably what I’m going to do. It seems more efficient to me. Thanks for the great write-ups today.

  3. My only wish is that the universal search function supports voice commands. Only then do I see myself using that function.

    • Universal search should support voice functions. I read recently, that Vlingo has a function called status bar for Android phones that enables users to type out commands rather than speak them, as well as use your voice to search Kayak and Open Table for upcoming appointments. Therefore, BlackBerry Universal Search should allow users to search particular calendar appointments, tasks, memos by typing or using voice commands.

  4. I may be confused, but I just realized.. can’t you change the number of rows already in OS6? I can do it on my 9700.

  5. Does anyone knows which devices are supported on for this OS?
