Poynt Running on the BlackBerry PlayBook!

IMG_2716

Poynt is one of my “must have” BlackBerry applications. During our hands on I noticed that they had Poynt installed and had to try it out. The app is not totally functional with only 3 out of the 5 regular search options but those three options work like a charm. The app even had the ability to play movie trailers. It puts the current Poynt BlackBerry app in terms of visual appeal! These are the kind of apps I think that will make the PlayBook great by simply and radically improving the experience we have all grown to rely on.

  1. I’ve tried using poynt more than ode and haven’t found it useful to keep. Perhaps on the playbook it will be better :)

  2. I use Poynt all the time. One of my fav apps on my BB. Looking forward to use it on the PlayBook.

  3. Maybe I will have to try Poynt again. The first time I did, I felt like just using local google search + google maps did a better job.

  4. Using Poynt is much better than using AT&T Nav….better boot up time

  5. I like poynt, I just don’t have many places around me to use it for.

  6. I love that Poynt integrates with Contacts. I even use it for a quick weather check. The only thing I haven’t used it for is Movies. Gas, restaurants, businesses, and reverse lookup are all used at least weekly.

  7. I love Poynt on the BB but it doesn’t seem like something that would benefit so much from the bigger screen. But from the screenshots, it looks like they might be integrating movie previews or something. That would be cool.

Still waiting to see Paper Toss for the Playbook. That would sell me instantly!

  8. Looks much sharper than on the BB versions.. but it seems like it won’t be as essential if the browser is as good as shown.
