Earlier this week a rumor surfaced from a statement by Kaufman Brothers analyst Shaw Wu that the PlayBook would likely be delayed due to battery issues. It didn’t take long for RIM to fire back with the following statement:
“Any testing or observation of battery life to date by anyone outside of RIM would have been performed using pre-beta units that were built without power management implemented. RIM is on track with its schedule to optimize the BlackBerry PlayBook’s battery life and looks forward to providing customers with a professional grade tablet that offers superior performance with comparable battery life.”
We didn’t expect RIM to stay quiet on this issue and with their typical statement style they dismissed the statement from the analyst. Hopefully RIM will release exact battery life and release date at CES next week. Thanks to DavidB for the tip.

Is it any wonder? Again we have an analyst talking about unsubstantiated “news”.

Yeah that’s why I said on the previous post to take it as rumors since it was just his words.

Shaw Wu has been discredited even by Apple-ites. He’s just guessing.
