OfferedApp Provides Free Apps for Completing Offers (Surveys, etc.)

OfferedApp is a new website that brings the “complete an offer” model to free BlackBerry apps. Essentially they offer up a free app every day if you complete one of four available offers. I am not sure how I feel about this model but there definitely are ways to get the app for free from OfferedApp. For example, today’s app is SmartWiFi and users can get the app by downloading a free MobileXpression app or completing a single NPD survey which both don’t really require payment from the user. Keep in mind you may get spammed on the email or information you provide so this is definitely a “know the risks” situation.

While this kind of “complete an offer” model for free apps may not bee for everybody it has been very popular in other networks like social games for virtual goods or currency. The way it works is that the paid app offered for free is supported by advertisers that cover the cost of the app.

If this sounds like something you would do check out for the daily deal.

  1. Looks like is just leading to a Go Daddy parked domain page for me..

  2. My mistake. For some reason my hands decided to add an S to the domain. It is

  3. Just signed up for a simple NPD Research offer which took 2 minutes, and got the Smart Wi-fi app for free. This site is awesome.

  4. I tried it out..I needed this for my new Bold I just got last night 🙂

  5. I tried it and it worked for me. Hope I won’t be getting a bunch of SPAM for my troubles. If they keep that under control this might be a really nice way to get some free apps!

  6. Thanks all for the comments — we’re glad you’re liking the site! We’re definitely going to keep the offers as easy as possible and only from high quality, carefully selected advertisers so there will never be spam. We hope that you’ll email us with any and all comments (or app feature requests)!

    • And you guys will be back here apologizing if one of these qualified advertisers DOES start spamming us?

Best of luck with your business model. A lot of people have been burned by similar offers, hope you screen better.

  7. How come i cant download from my phone directly?

    • Once you do survey, it’ll appear in your mobi acct. Mine did

      • Yea.
        success for my first one.
the second one and now (third) is no longer working – ask me install app. Once done, the emails never come!
        sigh.. ah well./

        • Hi Terrence – Your second and third ones should work just like the first one did. Please shoot us a note at support(at)offeredapp(dot)com and we’ll be able to help get this resolved so you can download your free app immediately!

        • Sometimes you have to wait a bit for the app to appear in your Mobi account. And yeah, their link in their e-mails never worked for me so I just logged into my Mobi account and downloaded the app. Much easier via Mobi and it will show you if an update is available.

          • @parked — thanks for the comment and feedback. Good news — the Download Link issue that you noted has now been resolved. Apps can be downloaded immediately via the link you receive upon offer completion. If any other questions come up, please feel free to email us any time at support(at)offeredapp(dot)com

  8. This is pretty cool. It’s like with the one-deal-a-day scheme, but with “free” apps. I’ll join up when I see an app that I want. So far, I’ve seen some LED app and now a pinball app. Wish I had read this when the Smart WiFi app was being offered.

  9. something tells me this is a big data mining app

  10. Has anybody tried this out? Did you start getting spam? I’m a bit cautious about trying it. What information do they require? If they need your phone number I probably won’t try it. If you just need to give them an email address, I have a spam catcher account that would do nicely.

Also, have they offered any really good apps at all? So far most of the ones I’ve seen seem a bit lame.
