If you needed any more proof that OS 6.0 will shortly be released for the CDMA BlackBerry Bold 9650 and Curve 9330 we now have simulators for both released by RIM. Piotr let us know that RIM has posted the following simulators on their site:
- BlackBerry Bold 9650 OS 6.0.0.317
- BlackBerry Curve 9330 OS 6.0.0.317
That may also confirm that OS 6.0.0.317 will be the official OS builds when they come out but it is no guarantee. I am not sure why the GSM variants like the more popular 9700 still do not have OS 6.0 simulators but my guess is that carriers don’t want to push the 9700 to 6.0 as fast now that the 9780 is launched. Who knows the carriers might have our best interests in mind.

I couldn’t get the simulator to work for the 9650 (Generic carrier) with OS 6.0.0.317. Keeps saying that I have an incorrect link? Oh well, here’s to hoping for an official OS6 release soon.

I missed this news when it hit, but it looks like they’re back to OS5 as the only option for the 9650 as of 12/14/10.

I was thinking of trying out the 9650 simulator to see just what I would be in for if I could talk my boss into upgrading my Tour to a Bold, but that would just be teasing myself too much.
