Verizon Releases Free FiOS Digital Voice BlackBerry App

FiOS Digital Voice BlackBerry Verizon has been rolling out some sweet BlackBerry apps for their FiOS users. I wish FiOS was available in my apartment in Manhattan but I keep on hounding them to do so. Still if you have Verizon FiOS and use their Digital Voice home phone service then you should check out their latest app: FiOS Digital Voice.

The FiOS Digital Voice BlackBerry app gives you access to your call logs and lets you listen to voicemail without dialing an access number. You can also use your BlackBerry to manage popular calling features: Call Forwarding, Simultaneous Ring, Do Not Disturb, & Incoming Call Block.

I was hoping that it would let you make phone calls from your BlackBerry but that is not in the cards. You can pick up the free FiOS Digital Voice app in App World at this link.

  1. So it pretty much does for FIOS customers what YouMail does for the rest of us?

I can’t wait to see what sort of PlayBook apps we get along this line. Wouldn’t it be awesome to have a app on your PlayBook that let’s you manage your phone service, do all your DVR scheduling and channel changing and such, along with your standard internet tasks like email and browsing? Even better if it could integrate into FIOS “whole home” DVR capability!

  2. Unfortunately, YouMail doesn’t work for the “rest of us either”. I only get like one VM a week, so it’s not like I’m totally bummed or needing it. lol

  3. And once again Verizon only releases for the Storm2. I realize they don’t distribute some of the other models, but it’s annoying to be a Vz FIOS customer yet not have access to any of these BB tools because I have the “wrong” phone model.
