Ridiculous $599.99 Fortunatus App Makes it in to App World

Fortunatus It was bound to happen. Other platforms already got their stupid apps that are priced in the stratosphere and now we have them in App World. Nah tipped us off that there is now a Fortunatus app from Sander Staal in App world going for $599.99. The description speaks for itself:

Do you have a lot of money?? Than Fortunatus is something for you! When you start Fortunatus you will see a picture of a beautiful diamond. You can show this diamond to your friends to show you are rich. It is also possible to chat with your fellow wealthy colleagues whom also bought the program. The chat function shows real-time how many other wealthy people are using the chat function at that moment. Look at the screenshots to see exactly what it does, and remember, what you see on the screenshots is what you get, nothing more.

It is no surprise that Fortunatus has no reviews in App World currently but if you have $599.99 to blow check it out at this link. Alternatively you can be cheap and just pick up a picture of a diamond… I am surprised this one got past the App World reviewers.

  1. This is madness -__-

  2. What????
Even the winner this month here needs to top up 99.99 more for the app… Maybe I shall make one for the not so rich..

  3. The people who buy this are idiots.

  4. RIM makes profit from this… So I guess they would like this to generate some buzz => more profit?

  5. this is just ridiculous….

  6. I guess the question to ask is WHICH App World submission guideline does this violate? Is there a condition that your app has to actually “do” something?

  7. WOW!
    That’s all I’m gonna say

  8. how did this ever get pass the app world reviewers, this is nuts.

  9. This probably got passed because RIM has a 18 yr old college kid approving hundreds of apps at one time. As long as it didn’t say anything about nudity he probably just said yes.

  10. Hummmm…. no 7 or 14 day free trial? I mean if I’m gonna pay that much for an app, I want to try it out first.

  11. I would need to know the cut, color, clarity, and carat weight of that diamond before I get the app. One would be an idiot to not consider those prior to buying Fortunatus.

  12. I hope this is a joke.
