ShortcutMe v5 Adds Sweet Macro Capabilities

ShortcutMe keeps on pushing the envelope with their BlackBerry shortcuts app. First the added the ability to open different apps when you single, double, or triple click on a convenience key. Now they have added the ability to execute macros when you open up an application through ShortcutMe. Check out what I mean in the YouTube video below:

Here is a quick description of the Macro feature:

Create a shortcut to launch an app/task and then automatically simulate macros to do what you want. (i.e. A shortcut to launch an app, open menu, select and open an item on the menu, enter a text and then push Enter key. This macro shortcut can be launched by hitting a key or multiple clicking Space or Convenience key and it can be added to a cascaded shortcut!)

They have also added these features in v5:

  • Improved 5 days weather forecast feature that also shows wind speed, direction, humidity, etc.
  • No need anymore to find Location ID for a city before you can see the weather forecast for that city. You can now just enter the city name and country as parameter.

You can find the ShortcutMe app for $4.99 at this link in the store.
